Bio: Want to tickle some ivories?
I am a classical pianist of 19 years, teacher, and filmmaker who admittedly would rather play in a cantina band. I believe music should be fun, enlightening, and relaxing!
I studied with L. Gates Wray for 9 years, student of Vladimir Horowitz and Isabella Vengerova (Leonard Bernstein’s Piano Instructor), in the techniques of classical piano performance and education. I also received piano instruction at the University of Michigan with Professor Christopher Harding, and composition/music theory techniques with Professor Ramon Satyendra.
As an arts and crafts group leader at the Ann Arbor Center for Independent Living, I have worked closely with students with special needs. I understand the importance of serving each student’s individual needs so they may grow more confident and independent with each lesson.
Throughout my career I have performed music and dance routines at Madison Square Garden, the Eastman School of Music, Northwestern University, the University of Michigan, Greenwich Village Bistro, etc.
I am available to teach in-studio and in-home throughout the New York City area, and in parts of Jersey City, and Hoboken. Please allow me to guide you through your musical journey!
