Locations I am willing to serve: Manhattan, Brooklyn, and possibly outer boroughs
Bio: I love playing piano! I've been classically trained for 19 years. Lately, I've taken interest in arranging modern songs you hear on the radio, but my passion is classical music. I have 9 years experience teaching academics, life skills, and social skills to students with developmental disabilities. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 2008 with a BA in Psychology and pursued a career in teaching learners with autism using ABA. Now I'm in my second year as a teacher at a wonderful ABA school for autism located in Manhattan. There, I use behavior analytic techniques such as prompt fading, planning for the reduction of problem behavior, differential reinforcement, generalization, maintenance, and shaping. I teach my learners piano skills in their school using color and letter prompt fading. Imagine my enthusiasm when I discovered the Young Method. Combining the piano and ABA! There is great value in exposing learners to new skills, such as music. Everybody has their special hobby and the piano can open the door to a whole world of instruments! I recognize all learners are different and with patience and motivation, piano lessons will be fun!!
