Bio: Spanish pianist Mia, praised for her “bold and extremely soulful piano playing” by De Ijsselbode, has debuted as a soloist throughout Europe and the United States. Lia de Vries writes, “Through her playing, a story unfolds; her thoughtful Bach, convincing Beethoven, and passionate Granados, moved an audience that thanked her with a grand applause.” Based in New York City, she frequently performs at venues such as Loewe Theater, Black Box Theater and other educational institutions including Columbia and New York Universities.
She recently graduated with a Master's Degree in piano performance from New York University's Steinhardt School in May 2016 after completing a Bachelor Degree in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Granada, and Early Childhood Education Degree from Alhadra School of Advanced Studies of Almería in Spain.
Her double expertise both in piano and education has kept her highly interested in research about innovative music methods and their multiple benefits on children's brain development. Her wide teaching experience includes traditional private piano lessons, music theory, introductory music lessons and music stimulation, having worked with children with learning disabilities.
Mia enjoys dance and equestrianism. She collaborates with non-profit organizations, music orchestras and ensembles, including New York Philharmonic, Jaén Symphony Orchestra, Granada Municipal Band, Sing for Hope, Art for China, SAE Institute, La Strada Theater Company and Pura Vida Dance Company. She is the founder and director of Music For Ages, an early childhood bilingual music education program.
